How much does a business website cost in 2026?
NVV Partners · 2026-01-20
A marketing website for a small or mid-sized company generally costs between €3,000 and €12,000. An online store starts around €8,000 and frequently reaches €25,000 once it integrates with an inventory system. A custom web application realistically starts at €15,000. Below is what decides where inside the range a project lands.
Marketing website: €3,000 – €12,000
The lower end covers a 5–8 page site, designed on an existing structure, in one language, with a contact form. The upper end appears when you need content in several languages, a section-level content management system, separate service pages for SEO and CRM integration.
Online store: €8,000 – €25,000+
A simple store with variant-free products and standard payment sits at the bottom. Cost rises with each of these: product variants, customer-group pricing, ERP integration for stock, multiple couriers, multiple languages and multiple currencies.
Custom web application: from €15,000
Here the price does not follow the number of pages but the number of business rules and the states a document passes through. A system with roles, approvals, audit and reporting carries more hidden complexity than its interface suggests.
What moves cost the most
Integrations: every external system adds both development and the handling of the cases where that system does not respond.
Number of languages: it is not translation that costs, but structure, per-language content and testing.
Data migration from the old system, especially when the data is inconsistent.
Compliance requirements: GDPR, logging, history retention.
How custom the design is compared with an existing component system.
What the price usually excludes
Hosting, licences for third-party services, copywriting, product photography and advertising budget are separate. Monthly maintenance is typically calculated at between 5% and 15% of the project cost per year.
How to request a useful estimate
Describe the commercial objective, not the features: what should happen more often after launch.
List the systems it must talk to: ERP, CRM, accounting, payments.
State which languages you publish in and for which markets.
Give the real deadline, and whether an external fixed date exists.
Give a budget range; without one, any quote is guesswork.
